Business Process Re-engineering and Organizational Improvement
Business Process Reengineering (BPR) is another tool that can be used to redesign business processes in order to bring about improvements in efficiency and effectiveness. BPR is particularly effective when improved policies and procedures are needed. Although a BPR can be as rigorous, lengthy, and complex as a competitive sourcing study, it does not include a competition between the government and the private sector.
MAI’s process for conducting a BPR is consistent with the Hammer and Champy principles of reengineering to streamline the work process and to achieve significant levels of improvement in quality, time management, and cost.Project Profile: U.S Geological Survey's National Geospatial Technical Operations Center
