MAI PPP Projects
As a leader in Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), MAI has conducted numerous successful projects. Below are examples of MAI's work in this area:
- Review of developer Cost and Technical proposals for a PPP for development of 552 units of family housing at Patrick Air Force Base, Florida.
- Worked in Hanoi with Vietnamese national and subnational government officials, helping them to prioritize infrastructure projects and assess the requirements of public-private partnerships. This task was for the Asian Development Bank Institute.
- Review of the Government of Ukraine’s draft PPP Law (2007) for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). MAI analyzed and commented on the draft Law’s conformance to international standards, and coordinated with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and USAID staff during the review.
- Performed “An Evaluation of the Enabling Environment for Public-Private Partnerships in the Russian Federation” and presented findings to the Russian government in Moscow for the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
- Conducted an analysis of PPPs for Recreation and Natural Resources for the Army Corps of Engineers. This research-based report provided case studies and best practices for development and implementation of PPPs in these sectors.
- Conducted a study requested by the Vermont State Legislature to evaluate PPP alternatives for the State’s liquor warehousing and distribution functions. This in-depth analysis evaluated financial, technical, and social issues of the potential partnerships.
- Developed and presented PPP training for the United Nations Development Programme, Asian Development Bank Institute, National Council for Public-Private Partnerships, International Law Institute, and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
- For the World Bank, MAI is helping to design and develop the Multilateral Public-Private Partnerships for Infrastructure Capacity Building (MP3IC), an online platform serving as a repository of PPP knowledge and capacity building materials. This is a joint project of the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and Inter American Development Bank.
