Public-Private Partnerships and Privatization
Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) are increasingly being used by governments worldwide to obtain needed infrastructure and services. By leveraging private sector capital and expertise, PPPs can enable the public sector to improve the quality, capacity, and cost-effectiveness of public goods.
The MAI staff have been leaders in this trend. MAI performs feasibility studies and cost analyses of PPPs, develops Requests for Tender, performs tender evaluations, and helps build public sector capacity through training courses and assessment of PPP policies and programs.
MAI is a Sponsor Member of the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships.
